historical flutist

Marta Gawlas was born in 1999 in Cieszyn. She began playing historical transverse flutes during her school years. She studied in various places around the world, including Katowice, where she graduated with honors in 2024, as well as in Verona (Italy), Brussels (Belgium), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Geneva (Switzerland). She performs both chamber and solo concerts in Poland and abroad, collaborating with numerous orchestras and early music ensembles such as Arte dei Suonatori, The English Concert, L’Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal, Les Arts Florissants, and Ensemble Matheus. She also works with renowned musicians, including William Christie, Ton Koopman, Marc Mauillon, Sophie Junker, Marcin Świątkiewicz, and Louis Creac’h. She is a member of Cohaere Ensemble, with which she won first prize at the CIMA compétition in France, and from 2021 to 2023, she was a beneficiary of the EEEmerging+ program. She is a laureate of numerous awards in solo and chambre music competitions.
